During a chat with my sons’ teacher the other week she mentioned that he was struggling more than previously, particularly in Maths.
As a counsellor, who teaches self-confidence in schools around the country, I found myself with the opportunity to apply my own principles to my son’s situation.
Here are some of the ideas I tried, which I hope you find useful.

With the start of a new school term approaching I’ve been asked to write a piece on ‘What makes a confident child?” for a local magazine.
Let’s take a look at 7 powerful tips from children I have worked with over the years, who have learnt to feel more confident.

I had a wonderful time last night speaking at a ‘Relationship Revolution’ event organised by Stylist Magazine. The evening involved 25 minute sessions with three groups of around 30 attendees in each group. We discussed the secrets of effective communication and emotional resilience within couple relationships.
Several people asked me for the ‘list of strategies for emotional well-being’ which I didn’t have time to discuss in full last night, so I have typed it below.
This list is just a few ideas of positive ways to de-stress and enhance our emotional well-being,

I received a call last week from someone who had seen my TEDx talk and was wondering about becoming a client. She wasn’t sure if her husband would want to come along too so I suggested that he could read my book first as an introduction to my approach and to help him decide.
I was thrilled to receive this email a couple of days later:
“Dear Cat,
… Your book is so timely for our situation at home –

What is the secret of feeling calmer and happier in the New Year?
