The ‘Coping with Lockdown’ Balloon
A Step by Step Guide to Minimising Stress and Maximising Well-being
The accompanying sheet shows the ‘balloon’. The ‘basket’ represents the fears /anxieties that can weigh us down and cause negative emotions (steps 1 & 2) Steps 3 & 4 are about reducing the size / weight of our ‘basket’. I got asked by a journalist this week what my opinion is about research showing that the over 70’s are having the most satisfactory sex of any age group of married couples….. more on my answer to that in a blog post coming soon!

I received a call from a journalist today about whether I had some top tips for overcoming our fears and learning new skills or hobbies, especially when we are older.
The journalist had recently learnt to swim and ski, two activities she had always been afraid of, but wanted to embrace for the sake of her young children, and of course herself.
I sent a few thoughts to her in reply and thought I would paste them here as well.
